It was Christmas Eve and a penguin was walking home in the snow.
He was old and he felt the cold.
Suddenly The Ghost of Yesterday appeared and pointed to the village square where some young penguins were playing snowballs. The old penguin remembered that he used to play like that. But now he felt cold, so he continued on his way home.
Further along the way, The Ghost of Today appeared and pointed towards a merry group of carol singers by the church. The old penguin remembered that he used to sing like that. But now he felt cold, so again he headed back home.
In bed that night, The Ghost of Tomorrow appeared and showed him a future vision of an old penguin shivering alone on an iceberg. And the ghost pointed at him. But the old penguin just tapped his beak and winked...
On Christmas Day the penguin awoke, flipped-on the bedroom air-con heating, hopped into the solar-heated shower; then waddled across the underfloor-heated lounge to the terrace, where he flopped into the heated pool for a lovely warm swim...
